The Story

Boston Beer Company is the independent craft brewer behind Samuel Adams and a portfolio of iconic beverage brands. Founded by Jim Koch in 1984 in Boston, Massachusetts, the company helped launch the American craft beer revolution with its flagship Samuel Adams Boston Lager.

From those early days as a small startup, Boston Beer grew into a publicly traded company on NASDAQ and expanded its portfolio to include Angry Orchard hard cider, Truly Hard Seltzer, Twisted Tea, and Dogfish Head Brewery. Today it produces more than 111 million cases annually and generates over $2 billion in revenue, making it one of the largest and most diversified players in the U.S. alcoholic beverage market.

Headquartered in Boston, the company remains known for its brewing innovation, strong internal culture, and founder-led approach. Jim Koch continues to serve as Chairman and, as of recent transitions, returned to the CEO role, keeping the company's original entrepreneurial spirit at the center of its operations.
