Sarah Miyazawa LaFleur's Bio
Sarah Miyazawa LaFleur is the founder and CEO of M.M. LaFleur, a women's clothing brand that takes the work out of getting dressed for the workplace. Born in Paris, France, she is the daughter of Christopher J. LaFleur, former U.S. Ambassador to Malaysia, and Keiko Miyazawa, daughter of former Japanese Prime Minister Kiichi Miyazawa.
She graduated from Harvard University in 2006 and started her career as a management consultant at Bain & Company. She then joined TechnoServe, working in South Africa to study agricultural business opportunities, before moving to Starwood Capital Group in New York and Paris.
LaFleur founded M.M. LaFleur in April 2011 with Miyako Nakamura and Narie Foster, naming the brand after her mother. The company's mission was simple: give professional women a reliable wardrobe so they can stop worrying about what to wear and focus on the work that matters. In February 2020 she announced the brand would lend free clothing to any woman running for public office.
