Elidah
Elidah is a woman-owned medical device company that develops FDA-cleared pelvic health solutions. Its flagship product, ELITONE, is a non-invasive wearable device that uses surface electrical stimulation to treat stress, urge, and mixed urinary incontinence.
The Story
Elidah is a woman-owned medical device company founded by Gloria Kolb to solve a problem no one wanted to talk about: pelvic floor weakness. After delivering a 9.5-pound baby and then 13-pound twins, Kolb experienced bladder leaks firsthand and was dissatisfied with the invasive or cumbersome solutions available.
She and her husband Eric designed ELITONE, a wearable external device that uses electrical stimulation to strengthen pelvic floor muscles automatically. The company is based in Newtown, Connecticut, and is backed by nine patents and more than eight years of clinical research.
ELITONE received FDA clearance and launched in 2019, just before the pandemic forced a pivot from clinical distribution to direct-to-consumer sales. Elidah grew 100% year over year through that pivot and remains self-funded, a point Kolb describes as both a source of pride and a challenge in a category where women's health receives less than two percent of total healthcare funding.
The brand's mission is to give women control over their health without embarrassment or internal devices.
