Nana Joe's Granola
Nana Joe's Granola is a women-owned granola company based in San Francisco. Founded in 2010 by Michelle Pusateri, they make handmade granola that's gluten-free, paleo, and vegan. Their products use whole food ingredients and no refined sugars, including EPIC Chocolate Oat and Paleo Sunrise.
The Story
Nana Joe's Granola is a certified gluten-free, organic granola company born in San Francisco's Sunset District. Founder Michelle Pusateri started the brand in 2010 from a kitchen at the San Francisco JCC, selling at farmers markets before moving into a Dogpatch manufacturing facility and reaching Whole Foods Northern California in 2014.
A pastry chef by training, Michelle brought a strict focus on ingredient purity to the brand after getting sober in 2007 and being diagnosed with celiac. Today the company distributes across multiple states with nearly $2 million in annual sales and over $18 million in lifetime revenue.
Michelle pays her team well above minimum wage, refuses to pass ingredient cost spikes on to customers, and still starts mornings surfing Ocean Beach. Nana Joe's is proof that whole-food ingredients and strong values can scale without compromising what matters.
