The Story

SORSOAP began with an injured hip flexor and a bar of Irish Spring. David Restiano, a designer based in Brick, New Jersey, returned from physical therapy with a sore hip and hopped in the shower. He grabbed a bar of Irish Spring, noticed the curve on the bottom, and thought of the Graston tool his physical therapist had used on him. He started scraping his hip flexor, felt immediate relief, and ran from the shower straight to his studio to start drawing.

He called Dr. Dan Staats, his physical therapist and future co-founder, a few days later. Together they launched SORSOAP during COVID, building a soap bar that doubles as a muscle-scraping tool. They sold $16,000 worth of product that first year and grew to $120,000 the next.

Their Shark Tank appearance on Season 15 earned Mark Cuban a $100,000 investment for 10 percent of the business. After the episode aired, they landed a Vitamin Shoppe partnership and hit $440,000 in sales that year. Revenue settled back to around $105,000 in 2025, and the company continues to sell direct-to-consumer alongside physical therapists and chiropractors across the country.
