Town Hall Outdoor Co
Town Hall Outdoor Co is a Steamboat Springs-based B Corp making durable, sustainable outdoor apparel for kids, including snow jackets and snow pants designed to last through adventures and hand-me-downs.
The Story
Town Hall Outdoor Co was founded in March 2020 by Robin Hall, an outdoor industry professional and parent who saw a gap in the market for high-quality, sustainable kids' outerwear. Starting in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, the brand set out to build gear that families could trust to last through rough play, multiple winters, and hand-me-down cycles.
From the beginning, the company prioritized purpose-built construction and environmentally responsible materials, using merino wool, recycled fabrics, and thoughtful design to reduce waste. That mission resonated quickly with parents and outdoor enthusiasts, earning Outside Magazine's Best Kids' Gear recognition in 2024 and attracting a cult following in mountain communities.
Distribution grew through a mix of direct-to-consumer sales and wholesale partnerships, including placement in 17 independent outdoor stores, a collaboration with REI, and a co-branded collection with Title IX. The brand's margins sit around 65% on DTC sales, a healthy figure that reflects both product quality and efficient operations.
Today, Town Hall remains self-funded and founder-led, with Robin Hall having recently taken her first salary and preparing to hire the first employee. A $300K revenue target for the current year marks the next phase of growth, while the brand stays anchored in its Steamboat Springs roots and its B Corp commitment to kids, community, and the planet.
