Alan Somerfield

Alan Somerfield is the founder of ShowerSpaah, a UK-based company that invented a revolutionary shower system mixing soap and water on demand. The device attaches to any showerhead and delivers warm, scented bubbles directly to the user - eliminating slippery soap bottles. Somerfield created ShowerSpaah after noticing his mother struggling with bathroom safety, realizing ordinary products become hazards for those with mobility challenges.

With 35 years of product design experience - including inventing the Stoplock steering wheel lock - Somerfield has a history of solving real problems. The concept for ShowerSpaah first took shape nearly 20 years ago while he worked for a major shower manufacturer in Los Angeles, but remained dormant until the pandemic gave him time and motivation. Rather than wait for a corporation, he cashed in part of his pension fund - jokingly calling it closing the "bank of dad" - and bootstrapped the business himself.

Launched about a year ago, ShowerSpaah has sold 2,500 units and generated roughly $200,000 in revenue, primarily marketing to the mobility community. The product has also found fans among dog owners and luxury seekers. Somerfield is now preparing for U.S. expansion and fundraising to hire a business development lead. His vision extends beyond showers: he dreams of building a company that could one day be sold to its employees, creating lasting value for everyone involved.
