Alex Hildebrandt's Bio
Alex Hildebrandt is the co-founder of SUYO Pisco, a B Corp™ certified company that produces single-origin Peruvian pisco and empowers artisanal producers. SUYO Pisco celebrates the unique flavors of lesser-known pisco makers, bringing the native Peruvian spirit to a global audience.
Hildebrandt, a Peruvian American, developed his curiosity for pisco during a family trip to Peru. Before founding SUYO, he built expertise in business development and financial strategy, skills he now applies to building the brand. He met co-founder Ian Leggett while working in the same office, and the two launched SUYO Pisco in 2019 as a passion project to source favorite piscos.
What began as a personal quest evolved into a disciplined, focus-first company. Hildebrandt has said that staying disciplined and saying no to premature expansion was a hard but important founder decision. SUYO's growth has been methodical, inspired by the playbooks of tequila and mezcal brands to build a sustainable category.
Based in Boston, Massachusetts, Hildebrandt leads SUYO's vision to elevate pisco while maintaining ethical standards. Under his leadership, SUYO became the first pisco brand to earn B Corporation certification, showing its dedication to social and environmental responsibility. The company continues to expand while true to its mission of supporting Peruvian artisans and preserving pisco traditions.
