Jen Swetzoff's Bio
Jen Swetzoff is the co-founder of Anyway Magazine, a gender-inclusive print publication for tweens and teens that covers health, culture, style, relationships, and community. She started the magazine with her childhood best friend Keeley McNamara to fill a gap she saw while raising her own kids during the pandemic.
Before founding Anyway, Swetzoff built a career in media and publishing. She graduated from Boston University with a degree in communication and went to work at PwC early in her career. She later held roles at the Council on Foreign Relations and at Eurasia Group, the geopolitical consulting firm founded by Ian Bremmer. In 2017, she launched Closeup Content, a creative consultancy working with writers and editors.
Swetzoff has contributed to a range of publications including New York Magazine, strategy+business, Travel + Leisure, and Frommer's Travel Guides. She lived in Brooklyn for 15 years before moving to Westport, Connecticut in August 2020.
Anyway Magazine was formed in June 2022 and released its first issue that December. Each issue runs about 80 pages and includes essays, interviews, comics, recipes, and activities. By late 2023, the magazine had roughly 2,500 subscribers and had donated more than 1,000 copies to nonprofits including Filling in the Blanks Connecticut and Brooklyn Book Bodega. Swetzoff appeared on the HIBT Advice Line with Julia Hartz of Eventbrite to discuss how the business was evolving.
