Jeni Britton

Jeni Britton is an ice cream scientist, entrepreneur, and the founder of Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, one of the most celebrated artisanal ice cream companies in the United States. Twenty years ago, while studying art history and fine arts at Ohio State University, she began experimenting with ice cream at a local Columbus farmers market, eventually dropping out to open her first shop, Scream Ice Cream.

What set Jeni apart was her scientific approach to flavor — she treated ice cream making as a creative laboratory, combining unusual ingredients and techniques to create distinctive, balanced flavors. From that farmers market beginning, she grew Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams into a brand with more than 80 retail shops and nationwide distribution, earning a reputation for quality and innovation.

In addition to her work with ice cream, Britton founded Floura, a new fiber bar company that reflects her continued interest in food science and health-conscious ingredients. She has been featured in major publications including Forbes, Fortune, and Bon Appétit, and remains actively involved in product development and brand vision at Jeni's. She lives in New York and continues to push the boundaries of what American ice cream can be.
