Lee's Bio
Lee Wright is the founder and president of The History List Store, a history-themed e-commerce brand based in Marlborough, Massachusetts. The store sells hundreds of products from t-shirts and prints to rare antiques and signed documents, generating roughly $750,000 a year from individual history lovers and institutions alike.
Before building The History List, Lee spent decades as a business and tech entrepreneur. His path shifted in 2005 when he moved to New England, bought a house built around 1780, and started volunteering with his local historical society and historical commission. That work sparked a new direction: connecting people to history instead of building businesses.
He launched The History List in 2011 as a free platform to help historical societies and historic sites publicize their events. It grew into the largest directory of its kind. History Camp followed in 2014 as an unconference bringing together educators, authors, curators, and enthusiasts for a day of shared learning.
The History List Store opened in 2016 after Lee designed a history-nerd t-shirt to help cover operating costs; the side experiment became a full catalog. In 2019 he co-founded The Pursuit of History, a nonprofit that runs History Camp and Pursuit of History Weekends. The first flagship weekend, Rebellion in New England, took place in May 2024 at Washington's Headquarters in Cambridge and drew attendees from across the country.
