Tanner McCraney
Tanner McCraney founded Cowboy Country Club to give golfers of every skill level a welcoming place to belong. The brand mixes golf with country lifestyle apparel, inspired by McCraney upbringing in Jackson. He built a fresh take on the traditional country club experience.
Tanner McCraney's Bio
Tanner McCraney is the founder and president of Cowboy Country Club, a golf apparel brand and membership community for golfers who want to feel at home on and off the course. The brand sells pro-shop essentials, signature hats, polos, hoodies, and membership boxes.
Growing up in Jackson, McCraney had a golf community through his parents, who were members of a local club. College kept that going, but after graduation he took a finance job in Atlanta and found himself on the outside, without anyone to play with and no place to call home in the game.
He started Cowboy Country Club around 2022 to solve his own problem. He built a social media following by telling his story, and the first product drop sold out in 12 seconds. He ran the business solo at first, calling every buyer a member. He hired his best friend from high school to lead wholesale, and they landed 30 retailers at their first trade show in Dallas.
By the time he called into the HIBT Advice Line, Cowboy Country Club was on track for roughly $1.5 million in annual revenue and sold in around 100 retail stores nationwide. McCraney talked with Neil Blumenthal about his biggest challenge, delegation. He is now focused on building a scalable team and moving fulfillment in-house to bring the company under one roof.
