The Story
The story of the ErgoFlex Desk starts with Victor Hugo Hernandez, a Cal Poly Humboldt art graduate who returned to Southern California to care for his mother and found himself searching for a desk that could adapt to both his creative work and his health needs. Dissatisfied with what was on the market, he spent seven years turning a rough prototype into a patented product.
Hernandez developed a unique tilt mechanism, filed a patent, and brought in an engineer from the Philippines to refine the hardware and software. The desk premiered at CES 2025 under the Evolution X banner as the world's first AI-powered smart ergonomic desk. It sold out quickly and is now preparing for a relaunch with updated branding and packaging.
The desk combines a motorized sit-stand base, tilt range from -5 to 65 degrees, omnidirectional glide wheels, and voice and app control with an AI coach that learns user habits. It also integrates with wearables via Apple Health and Google Fit, providing posture scoring and movement reminders throughout the day.
