Victor Hugo Hernandez's Bio
Victor Hugo Hernandez is the creator of ErgoFlex Desk, an AI-powered smart ergonomic desk that debuted at CES 2025. A Cal Poly Humboldt art graduate, he brings a designer's eye to workspace innovation.
Before founding ErgoFlex Desk, Hernandez established a graphic design business called Vico Designs and launched the Humboldt Arts Project in 2009, a grassroots initiative that grew into a two-day festival drawing 8,000 attendees. He also earned Outstanding Student in Fine Arts at Humboldt, where he studied sculpture, ceramics, and graphic design after transferring from Orange Coast College.
When his mother's health declined, Hernandez moved from Humboldt County to Southern California and re-enrolled in community college, earning certificates in entrepreneurship, industrial design, and product design. It was there he conceived ErgoFlex Desk - born from a personal frustration with expensive sit-stand desks and a designer's impulse to build something better.
ErgoFlex Desk combines AI-driven movement tracking, automated posture adjustments, and real-time ergonomic feedback into a height-adjustable, tilting workstation. Hernandez was invited to speak at Cal Poly Humboldt's regional commencement in Los Angeles in June 2025, bringing his journey full circle.
