Randomals
Randomals creates whimsical combination animal plush toys, figures, beanies, and award-winning books. The brand is built on the message that what makes us different makes all the difference in the world.
The Story
Randomals was born in Sun Valley, Idaho, during the COVID-19 pandemic when co-founder Nick Harmon channeled the spirit of his Bassador dog into a cast of whimsical composite animal plush toys. The brand expanded into hard toys, beanies, and award-winning books that carry a simple message: what makes us different makes all the difference. A viral video in 2024 reached 36 million views and attracted Ripley's Believe It or Not, which took the brand national.
Today Randomals is sold online and in more than 21 Ripley's locations across the United States. The product line includes 16 plush toys, 11 hard toys, 10 beanies, and 3 books, all centered on the idea that mixed-up creatures deserve their own stories. The company operates with a small team and reinvests every dollar into inventory, which remains its biggest operational challenge.
Looking ahead, Randomals is focused on dominating the U.S. market before exploring international expansion. The brand is in active conversations with animation studios and toy companies, but Monica Nassif's advice on the Advice Line was clear: discipline beats breadth. Nick has since narrowed his focus back to American retail and supply-chain stability.
