Breelyn Vanleeuwen
Breelyn Vanleeuwen, a physician assistant and mom of four, founded Daily Shade Sunscreen after 15 years in medicine. She spent four years developing a 100% non-nano zinc oxide formula that's reef-safe and ghost-face free.
Breelyn Vanleeuwen's Bio
Breelyn Vanleeuwen is the founder and CEO of Daily Shade Sunscreen, a mineral sunscreen company focused on creating tinted, chemical-free sun protection that blends into the skin without leaving a white cast. A Physician Assistant by training, she practiced in reconstructive surgery, where she developed a deep understanding of skin health and the long-term effects of sun exposure—experience that ultimately inspired her to start Daily Shade.
Vanleeuwen launched Daily Shade to address a gap in the mineral sunscreen market: formulas that absorb into the skin without leaving a white cast. As a mother of four, she designed the products with busy families in mind, creating kid-friendly options like the Babe Shade line. Her medical background gives her a unique advantage in formulating products that are both effective and gentle on sensitive skin.
Her entrepreneurial work has earned significant recognition. She was named to Forbes 30 Under 30 as a founder and, more recently, was selected for Utah Business's Forty Under 40 class of 2026. She's based in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area and is a graduate of Utah Valley University.
