Maggie Gerth's Bio
Maggie Gerth is the founder and CEO of Props Luggage, a carry-on suitcase brand known for its patented built-in leg system that transforms into a luggage rack, desk, or table for travelers. The mother of four conceived the idea after years of family travel frustration, when hotel luggage racks were always scarce and packing chaos was constant.
Before launching Props Luggage, Gerth worked in investment banking and built her business acumen through trial and error. She began designing the prototype before the pandemic, but the 2020 global travel halt forced her to rethink timing and strategy. Undeterred, she refined the design and launched to market, turning a personal travel pain point into a functional luggage innovation.
Today, Props Luggage has grown from a garage prototype into a brand carried in InMotion airport stores, The Container Store, and direct-to-consumer channels. Gerth's hands-on approach to design, marketing, and operations has turned Props into a recognized name in innovative travel gear.
