Stephanie Stuckey's Bio
Ethel Stephanie Stuckey is an American businesswoman and the Chair and CEO of the iconic roadside oasis famous for its pecan log rolls and classic Americana. Her grandfather, W.S. Stuckey Sr., started the company in 1937 as a simple roadside pecan stand in Eastman, Georgia. It grew into a beloved chain of stops across the country. After the family sold the business in the 1960s, the brand spent more than five decades away from the Stuckeys, and many locations fell into disrepair.
Before returning to the family business, Stephanie spent 14 years in Georgia politics. She served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 1999 to 2013 as a Democratic Party legislator, working on local issues and constituent services. That experience in public office taught her how to show up for people—a lesson that would matter deeply when she decided to reclaim her grandfather's legacy.
In 2019, Stephanie bought the company and brought it back under family control. She became CEO and set about rebuilding a brand that had lost its way. Her goal is simple: make the roadside oasis feel welcoming again, where every traveler is a friend. The company is now focused on restoring locations, refreshing the product line, and reminding a new generation of drivers that the best part of a road trip is often the unexpected stop.
